Alzheimer's Disease, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other Cognitive Disorders can lead to behaviors that are often misinterpreted. Our reactions to these behaviors can promote peaceful interactions and a positive outcome for everyone.
Training on these behaviors is essential for public safety officers, hospital personnel, educators, corporations, risk managers, and anyone who interacts with the general public.
According to the Centers for Disease Control 2021 statistics, autism is occurring at a rate of 1 in 44 births and is 4 times more prevalent in males. These individuals deserve to be understood and given opportunities just like everyone else.
The Alzheimer's Association states that there are 6.5 million people in the U.S. with Alzheimer's Disease, and more than 55 million individuals worldwide dealing with some form of Dementia. The question is not whether we will interact with individuals dealing with these disorders, the question is when.
Our goal is to explain WHY behaviors occur . . . but also to advocate, educate, and provide information on ways to POSITIVELY act, react, and interact with individuals who have different abilities. Numerous past unfavorable incidents, with those who have different abilities, have inspired us to seek more positive outcomes. Our training has the potential to decrease liability in many situations involving those with different abilities.
